Cranio-Sacral Therapy Carlow

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio-Sacral Therapy is a light touch body therapy which aids the body’s natural capacity for self-repair. In response to physical knocks or emotional stress, the body’s tissues contract. Sometimes, particularly when the shock is severe or accompanied by strong emotions, the tissues stay contracted. Any trauma, stresses, strains, or tensions, which remain in the body, restrict the body’s functioning and may give rise to problems over the years.

The effects may be both physical (such as back pain, migraine or digestive disorders) and emotional (such as anxiety or depression). As a Cranio-Sacral therapist, I am trained to feel restrictions in the body’s functioning and use techniques to release these restrictions/tensions so that your health can be restored whether you are coming to improve a physical, mental or emotional problem. During the session you may feel a deep sense of relaxation and become aware of heat, tingling, pulsations or other sensations. Craniosacral Therapy works on the whole person and changes may occur in body, mind and spirit during and after sessions. Cranio-Sacral Therapy can help children, teenagers, adults and the elderly.

The number of sessions required depends on the condition being treated. Acute injury and disease states can benefit from 2-6 sessions, while chronic debilitating disease or injury, need longer in order to develop well-being and to deal with the symptoms directly.
